4. Short URLs & QR codes
When you create a short URL or QR code (for example

- The original link or capture associated with the short URL/QR code;
- Basic analytics, such as total clicks, referrer, device type and approximate location (country/city);

5. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate and maintain ATCapture;
- Process captures, generate links/QR codes and deliver sharing and analytics features;
- Monitor performance, fix bugs and improve stability;
- Personalize your experience and remember preferences;
- Send important service-related messages (for example, security alerts or changes to these policies);
- Respond to support requests and feedback; and
- Analyze aggregated usage patterns to improve ATCapture and plan new features.
6. Legal bases
Where data protection laws require a legal basis (for example, under the GDPR), we rely on:
- Performance of a contract – to provide the Service you sign up for;
- Legitimate interests – to improve ATCapture, maintain security and prevent abuse;
- Consent – for certain optional analytics or marketing communications; and
- Legal obligations – to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
9. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes, such as:
- Maintaining your account and capture history;

You can delete captures, links or your account from within ATCapture or by contacting us. Some limited records may remain in backups for a period of time or where required by law.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring. However, no online service is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and choosing where you store or share captures.
